SUPPORT FQ
You can play a part in FQ’s music-making and delivery of high quality education and industry development programs. We’d love to hear from you.
We may just be four musicians, but the Flinders Quartet family is far reaching as we continue our purpose of amplifying the role of the string quartet in 21st century Australia. From our ongoing residency at Footscray High School, our celebrated composer programs, our much loved and innovative subscription series, recordings, ongoing work as Artistic Patrons of Itet, John Noble’s quartet program, and mentors of Musica Viva’s Strike a Chord program, your support will help as many people as possible have access to great chamber music.

A little insight into FQ’s work with regional musicians through the John Noble Itet program
“The Australian public has been given a gift by this wonderful, youthful group of fine musicians and we are rightly proud of the position of the FQ in the Australian music scene and in particular, chamber music.”

CONTRIBUTE TO SPECIFIC PROJECTS:
Healing and Awakening
[Time-limited] Dedicated to addressing the importance of youth mental health through music, this project invites you to contribute to the development of a new piece inspired by Manny Arcaro - a talented young musician who tragically took his life. Composed by Lee Bradshaw and to be premiered by FQ with Australian Youth Orchestra musicians, this project also trains musicians to guide sensitive conversations with students. Help us share Manny’s story and use music to inspire and support others.

Co-commissioning New Music
FQ Syndicate #8 - Robert McIntyre
[Space-limited] Be part of a FQ Syndicate to commission a new work alongside like-minded supporters. Having successfully raised funds for seven new works, FQ Syndicate #8 features composer Robert McIntyre’s new piece for string quartet/string orchestra, inspired by his passion for the environment and climate change. Robert will compose a piece for FQ and Resonance String Orchestra, premiering in Castlemaine in 2026 alongside a creation story by local First Nations artists. This work aims to spark dialogue on our relationship with the environment. For $500 or more, help us bring this brand-new work to life!

— Linda Herd, Fifth String Member
